Our Bodies ARE Temples

By now, I'm sure you've at least heard of some of the crazy junk they put in our food.

It's been enough for me to wish i could swear off the grocery store the way I did McDonalds forever ago...

But

Something I only recently became aware of is how the beauty industry hasn't been regulated in 200 years.

Nothing has to be FDA approved (not that the FDA reeeally keeps us from poisoning ourselves anyways...)

I had already gotten to a point last year where i realized every time i put on my makeup my body had an extreme reaction to it ~ & i mean an emotional one, not a physical rash.  So many silly melt downs after i had just priory been feeling HOT, you know?  Wanted to decorate my vessel & then have a 180* in the mood department.

So i listened to my body & stopped wearing it.

As the universe loves to do, then all this research started popping up on my Instagram from different sources talking about all the awful junk in the top makeup brands.

Basically, what i've gleaned since i started down the "healthy trail", if you don't know what it is or can't pronounce it, avoid it.

I now make my own toothpaste, shampoo, hand soap, body scrub, body butter, eyeliner, & cleaning spray.

If you're not up to making your own, there are good brands out there you just have to be discerning and really look.  There is an app called Yuka that allows you to scan the barcode of an item & it tells you on a scale how healthy it.

Does anyone else notice a theme here?

It may just be the conspiracy theorist in me... But is it possible that hormone dysregulation keeps us from tapping into our intuitive abilities?

Hmmm

There are healthy makeups.  There are healthy shampoos, soaps & detergents

Mineral based eyeshadows, blush created from rose petals - it's out there... I discovered this website too:

But this also has potential to spark your own creativity.

You can make your own war paint ~ your own personal scent ~ your own magical hair potion

Maybe you haven't explored essential oils before ~ find your scents ~

they hold healing properties where the synthetic smells poison us.

Pinterest is full of recipes for healthy makeup, soap, etc.

Nature holds medicine.  Your body is a temple that your soul resides within, treat it with the honor it deserves.
