Gut Health ~ Spiritual Digestion

Published on 22 April 2025 at 10:05

I'm going to start off with my original thought - "What is the biggest issue with humans right now?" and the answer i got through meditation was "Constipation."

Now, if you're unfamiliar with Louise Hay, i recommend picking up her book, You Can Heal Your Life.  She talks about the mental connections to physical ailments.  It's fascinating as well as a wonderful tool for self-examination.

Constipation goes beyond poop.  Are we all still 6 years old and amused by that word? Maybe my kids are rubbing off on me.

Anyways, when i say constipation, it goes much deeper than what is going on in our digestion - though everything is deeply inter-connected.

When we are not constantly shedding what no longer serves us we begin to hold on and create blockages.  Holding on to memories that were hurtful, situations we wished went differently, people that don't support us, jobs that stress us out, habits that we know aren't healthy...

Every time we hold on, instead of letting go, we are creating energetic constipation.

After so much of this, it becomes a physical symptom.  Our intestines clog up, holding on to the same "shit" our mind is latched to.

Now, the chakras, if this is a new concept for you, are the energetic fields in our body.  The solar plexus (yellow) represents our feelings and power center.  This is also where most of our filtration and digestion systems are located.  No coincidences.  If we are not accepting, digesting and assimilating our feelings then constipation will happen within the physical matter of our body.  The same way you have to release waste from consumed foods, we need to release the emotions that have our energy misplaced.

Emotional loops - those hamster wheel spirals that your brain runs on ~ such as, worry about so-and-so, or money, or the way our body looks ~ whatever the mental loop, if it's not released it will form blockades.

Constipation.

Louise Hay says this is "refusing to release old ideas.  Stuck in the past."

If you're into mantras, repeating this in the mirror is affective;

"As I release the past, new and fresh and vital enter.  I allow life to flow through me, digesting and assimilating with ease. "

Don't be surprised if you burp, get gassy, need to poo, or even feel like throwing up

Rewiring can often feel uncomfortable.

How often do we hear the little voice that something isn't good for us but we do it anyway?  Junk food, Netflix binge, alcohol, unfulfilling relationships ~ it doesn't matter what it is, it wont be the same for everyone, but you know your own crutches.

It's time to stand on your own two feet and reclaim your will.  This is your life and you are a conscious creator.

In order to call your power back you must also trust yourself enough to listen to that voice that says, "I know better..."  Even when it's barely a whisper.  We get really good at ignoring what we don't want to hear...  But what is more important than the truth?

All of this to say, what are you holding on to that needs releasing?  What is your mind tired of working through?

I guarantee that your gut will thank you once you start pinpointing what's being ignored mentally.

The solar plexus is the only chakra in the body that says AVOID, in all caps.  Avoid the bleached and processed foods.  Avoid the food coloring. (so many cancers linked to this BS!!!)  Avoid white sugar (it shuts down your immune system for 20 minutes, attaching to your spine confusing the white blood cells that protect you, and makes your body work 10x harder).  Those gummies you're giving tour kid>? yeah.  Don't.

There is honey, raw cane sugar, maple syrup, coconut sugar, monk fruit, dates - honestly, so many other options that aren't "main stream".   I'm certainly not saying cut out the sweets and don't enjoy your life!  Baking is actually a huge part of my spiritual practice haha BUT!  Avoiding the foods that make your body work harder so it can run more smoothly is a must for a healthy lifestyle.

There's no one shoe fits all, this is the "right way".  Follow the call of your own unique soul and what works with your current life style.  DON'T FORCE anything, that creates stress.  Just implement what you can however you can, find your flow.

Baby steps are better than standing still or going backwards!

Your Solar Plexus focuses on willpower and goals. It can impact digestion and drive when blocked.  If you're having a hard time finding motivation or confidence, this is the sign you've been looking for!

I have posters made for understanding the chakra systems; what balancing them helps with in the physical body, mantras associated and what foods aid in balancing.  If interested in purchasing one, don't hesitate to message me.  :)

You shouldn't have to bend over backward so you don't enjoy life ~ changing diet, habits and routines can be fun!

They lied to us and made it seem hard!

It's time to reflect on the habits no longer serve you ~

It's time to shed.

(it's okay if that means a few more trips to the bathroom to poo; take the dump to meditate. Don't get on your phone and scroll, be with your body, allow everything that needs to release gooooo.)

I highly advocate for Ryze - whether you're a coffee or tea drinker, adding mushrooms to my morning routine had HUGE change on my gut.  I bloated after every meal my whole life, i thought that was normal.  It wasn't until i switched to mushroom coffee that it disappeared.  Now it's very easy to see what foods my body disagrees with (when my stomach blows up like a balloon)

Also ~ Moringa!!!  I found it a few months ago and drink it daily.  My energy levels have increased drastically.  As a full time, homeschooling momma of two rowdy boys, my crash normal had been around lunch time.  Now i have energy most days until i go to bed.  (actually now it's more like i have to force my own inner child to go to sleep!)

It's great for so many purposes, if only to make sure you're getting your vitamins.  I might do a whole blog post about it sometime haha
